Un titre inédit, très souvent joué live avant OK Computer. À un moment, il a été pressenti pour apparaître dessus, et certains le voyaient même premier single extrait de l'album, puis comme second, puis troisième... C'est la seule chanson où Thom s'apostrophe lui-même (dans la première version). Le groupe l'aime beaucoup. Mais...

Le retour sur scène a pris tout le monde de court. Les paroles sont légèrement différentes, une mélodie supplémentaire rend la chanson moins répétitive et plus aérienne.

• Il existe deux mots anglais pour désigner un ascenseur, elevator et lift, le premier étant plus spécifiquement américain.
